On Thursday 14th May the new petanque terrain was officially opened by the Bridgwater Deputy Mayor, Cllr Leigh Redman.

To mark the occasion there was a mini four way tournament featuring teams from Wellington PC, Weston-super-Mare PC, Bridgwater PC and a team representing our French twinned town, La Ciotat. Weston were the wnners winning all three of their games.

The competition was followed by lunch in the Victoria Park Bowling Club pavillion where medals and a trophy were awarded to the players.
