Despite it being one of the hotest day of the year several people were attracted to the Bridgwater Petanque Club stall on Saturday. One of them being Janet Montgomery, the High Sheriff of Somerset plus Kathy Pearce our Town Mayor. A challenge match between the two of them resulted in a narrow win for the Sheriff who was obviously no stanger to the game. For our Mayor it was her second petanque experience in the last few weeks as Kathy also took part in the Town Twinning Competition.

A number of children also came along and "had a go" and quickly picked up the basic rules and scoring system. If young people can be encouraged to take up the game then the future of petanque could be secure.

Thank you to all those invoved in organising the day and thank you to the Town Council for lending the gazebo.
